Melissa Thompson, Manager of Compliance and Regulatory AffairsMelissa Thompson is the Manager of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs at Expression. After graduating with a B.A. from “that damn hippy school” otherwise known as The Evergreen State College, she found herself caught up in the southward migration to San Francisco. She quickly found herself working, of all places, at an investment banking firm, (so much for the liberal arts background). There she assisted various executives, found she had a knack for computers and soon became known as “the Siebel guru.” She briefly moved on to a software company where she assisted the Executive Team as well as managed the office. Although she learned a great deal at these jobs she began missing her liberal arts roots… and then she stumbled upon Expression.

Melissa came to work at Expression because she wanted to be surrounded by people who were dedicated to creating something meaningful. She says that Expression is like “an extension of myself; it is fun, creative, energetic, goofy at times, but always driven.”

Melissa is passionate about poetry, painting, coffee, & most recently learning to play the guitar. In her spare time you can find her writing poetry or reading at SF open-mics. Somewhere in the future she’d like to get her MFA in creative writing, but who knows?
