Faculty: Education Administration David Bolt

David Bolt | Dean of Academic Affairs

Dave Bolt is the Dean for Academic Affairs. His previous academic positions include being the Vice President for Technology at the California College of the Arts, Production Director for the George Lucas Educational Foundation at Skywalker Ranch and Executive Director of the Bay Area Video Coalition. He has taught in the classroom at San Francisco State University, Laney College and UC Berkeley Extension.

Dave is the author of “The Digital Divide.” He is also the producer of the national PBS series “The Digital Divide,” produced with Queen Latifah. He is a life-long documentary producer whose recent work includes producing episodes for another national PBS series “Dragonfly TV”. In 2005 he produced “Fifty Years in Asia” with Tom Brokaw for the Asia Foundation, shot in a dozen Asian nations. He has produced over fifty documentaries in the past twenty-five years and has won numerous awards for his programs.

He is also a designer of board war games. His first board war game was “The Cossacks Are Coming!” published in 1983, it covers the Battle of Tannenberg in World War One. He is the designer of ten published board war games including “Home Before The Leaves Fall,” “Duel for Kharkov,” and “First Blitzkrieg in the East.”

Dave came to Expression College for Digital Arts in May 2003 as an instructor. He became the Program Director of the General Education program in 2006. He became the Dean in 2008.
