The grandson of vaudevillian child star David Thorne, Jafar Thorne is an avid musician who has been performing in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene since he was 15. “I have been singing before I could talk.”

Out of High School, he studied Music Theory, Guitar Technique, and MIDI at Los Medanos College. After toiling for several years doing research work in the Real Estate Industry, he happened upon a post for the Master Scheduler position at Expression. Immediately Jafar knew, he had found where he belonged.

Luckily, all of the toiling in the Real Estate Industry paid off. The experience he gained there made him qualified for his current position at Expression. “Some things are meant to be...”

Outside of Expression, he performs with Hobo Jungle (a modern roots music group), as well as producing their first record with a broad cast of musicians culled from the network he has built as Expression’s Artist Relations Director. Although he aspires to play music professionally and “lose the day job”, Expression has been a great opportunity for him to learn more about the industry that drives his passion.

As a lover of improvisation of all kinds (in music, art, food, work, LIFE itself) his motto is: “Create The Inevitable!” (...and you can’t go wrong.)
