John Storyk, registered architect, has provided design and construction supervision services for the professional audio and video recording community since the 1969 completion of Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

John Storyk received his architectural studies at Princeton and Columbia Universities. He has been responsible for over 900 world-class audio recording studios, radio stations, video facilities, as well as small clubs and theaters including private studios for Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Ace Frehley, Russ Freeman, Taylor Dayne’s producer Rick Wake; Johnny Yuma Recording in L.A.; studio installation for Soundshop, Nashville; Crawford Post, Atlanta; screening rooms for NYC’s Planet Hollywood and the Shooting Gallery; conference facilities for Mercury (Polygram) and SBK (EMI); a 20,000 sq. ft. (185 sq. meter) complex for Full Sail/Platinum Post; 5- studiocomplex for LA Studio’s Margarita Mix; installation of the newest room for Howard Schwartz Recording, NYC; and a new 7-studio, 15,000 sq. ft. (1.400 sq meter) home for JSM Music in New York City. Currently John Storyk and Sam Berkow are the acoustic consultants for Jazz at Lincoln Center, NY, slated for opening 2002.

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Acoustical Engineering Society (AES) and other professional organizations. He is a frequent contributor to AES convention papers, professional magazines such as EQ and MIX, as well as Director of Acoustics and Studio Design at Full Sail Center for the Media Arts in Orlando, FL and Expression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville CA.
