Major Lightner grew up in the SF Bay Area, after graduating with his BFA he moved straight to NYC to start his career as an Independent Producer/Director and at advertising giant Grey Worldwide. Over the years he’s worked for such clients as Canon, Covergirl, PBS, Pantene, Twix, Proctor & Gamble, EMI, BMG, and Sony Music creating global advertising spots and international, chart-topping music videos. Major Lightner has been one of the top music video director/producers since his first video received critical acclaim at the renowned SXSW festival in 2003. He’s gone on to top the charts of MTV, TRL, VH1, MTV2, MTV-U and FUSE with videos for Platinum selling artists such as Norah Jones, Hawthorne Heights, and Straylight Run, among others.

He recently returned to San Francisco where he has continued his career as a freelance producer and director for CURRENT TV, MEVIO, and VICTORY RECORDS.
