Ray Harryhausen, the father of stop-motion animation, will be at Expression College on Monday, April 10th at 4:00 PM to promote his new book, the Art of Ray Harryhausen. He will give a brief talk, take some questions from the audience and sign copies of his book which will be available on site!

Ray Harryhausen, legendary artist and animator, visited Expression to
discuss his new book, the Art of Ray Harryhausen. He spoke to students and faculty, and then signed copies of his new release. He shared stories and techniques from his decades of work in stop-motion animation and entertained questions from the audience. Mr. Harryhausen commented on the effects of technology in animation, emphasized the importance of story-telling and the effect a score can have on the overall outcome of a film.
This marked Mr. Harryhausens third visit to Expression. What can we look forward to in the future from Mr. Harryhausen? Well, he plans to return to London and begin work on his third book! Stay tuned.

Did you know that Expression College proudly announced a program partnership with the Game Audio Network Guild, a non-profit group dedicated to the advancement of interactive audio at the 2006 Game Developers Conference in March? Expression College is the first and only program partner with G.A.N.G for the advancement of game audio education. This is exciting news, read on!
The partnership is focused on the development of game audio professionals entering the industry. To support that effort, Expression and the Game Audio Network Guild have announced two $10,000 scholarships to be awarded by G.A.N.G. and delivered by Expression College for Digital Arts, a lecture series to be held on the campus grounds, and development of a Game Audio Bachelor of Applied Science degree program and course of study at the College. Additionally the program will include an exclusive lecture series, panel discussions, best-practice and technology symposiums and portfolio reviews.

These student designers provided a range of initial concepts and storyboards and revised the piece based on feedback from various people, resulting in a collaboration that exhibited the best talent of the group as well as the wide variety of skills learned by students enrolled in the program.
