2005:
Expression recorded it's 700th band and conducted it's 2500th student-led recording session in 2005. While we are always looking for new talent to participate in our recording arts classes, there are a few artists that have made a home here. Local rock-heroes the Gun & Doll Show (jazz-cat Lloyd Gregory, experimental-edgers Fleeting Trance, folk-rockers 7th Direction, and blues-rockers Crosscut have all been recording with us since 2001. They are almost considered Alumni.
It is artists such as these which are most prized for us. They have worked enough in the class context to know what our students need, helping to provide the best possible experience for them. In the process, each has cut several albums worth of material.
2004:
The Cowlicks accept the California Music Award for Outstanding Alt-Country Album of 2004 for their release, "Cowboys With Attitude", which was recorded entirely by Expression Students. Yeeeehaww!! A second album recorded by our Advanced Recording Course is due out this year. "C.W.A" is available at Miles of Music, on CDBaby, at Down Home Music in El Cerrito, CA, and at Rasputin's locations throughout the Bay Area.
2003:
Expression Session Artists Animal Liberation Orchestra, Keller Williams, Kooken & Hoomen, North Mississippi Allstars, Randy Todd, Reorchestra, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Spindrift, Tea Leaf Green, & Ten Mile Tide performed at the High Sierra Music Festival July 3-6th along with many other notable artists.
Local Roots-Music group The Shut-Ins released their full-length CD, "Shut-Ins Sing Songs of Pain and Joy". All basic tracks were recorded with students at Expression, + overdubs and mixing done at Bay View Studios in Emeryville. 2002:
Ten Ton Chicken recorded "Handle" and "Punchytown Jamboree" with Students in Basic Recording and they are available on their release "Just Like the Old Country" or on Harmonized Records.
2001:
Netwerk: Electric releases an album aptly titled "Expression Sessions" on Harmonized Records which was recorded and mixed entirely by Expression students. You can buy it now online at Homegrown Music.
2000:

Expression has also hosted private concerts in our Meyer Sound Performance Hall sponsored by KFOG 104.5, KCNL 104.9, Alice 97.3, and other local radio stations.
