Faculty focus: Brian Andrews | Siggraph 2011

Course Director for Animation & Visual Effects, Brian Andrews, visited the esteemed SIGGRAPH conference this year in Vancouver, BC. Some highlights for him at the conference were (in no particular order): The Foundry’s event, Cory Doctorow’s presentation about copyright, and Pixar’s short “La Luna” screening and panel discussion.

Firms find like minds within industry clusters

Sound in Ex’pression College for Digital Arts’ live music venue used equipment from Meyer Sound Laboratories Inc., just a couple blocks down San Pablo Avenue. In the same building at the Emeryville school, employees from Pixar Animation Studios — based a few blocks in the other direction — teach classes in animation, visual effects and digital filmmaking.
