Wintzen Library gives back
The Wintzen Library and Learning Resource Center, storehouse of knowledge and information on the Ex’pression College campus, is pleased to announce that over 100 textbooks have been sent to developing nations to assist them in educating their students. This was done via the International Book Project, Inc.
One of Ex’pression’s fundamental tenets is to give back to the community whenever possible. Opportunities, such as these, which assist others in enriching their lives and their communities, are invaluable. The textbooks that were donated were Beginning Algebra and Basic Geometry.
Since 1966, the International Book Project has sent “over 5 million books to more than 100 countries around the globe”. They take various textbook donations but are specifically looking for:
- Books for native speakers of Spanish and French
- English grammar
- Science texts (K-University)
- Math texts (K-University)
- Dictionaries and picture dictionaries
- Medical Texts
- Agriculture and Animal Science texts
- Vocational books (plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry)
- Children’s library books (picture story and chapter books)
- Encyclopedias newer than 1990.
If you or anyone you know is interested in donating to the International Book Project, you can see what they are all about at internationalbookproject.org. You can also donate books for US students through their program, Books as Bridges.
