Ex’pression College for Digital Arts
Ex’pression lost a member of its family. Sound Arts student Brett Studebaker was involved in a fatal car accident on February 6, 2010. At a young age, Brett already showed promise as a musician, composing and performing his own music.
At age 15 he and his band won the San Francisco Battle of the Bands and were awarded 25 hours of recording time at a professional studio. For Brett, this recording experience was life changing and “opened my eyes to some possibilities I had not previously considered… I knew immediately what direction I wanted to go with my life.&rdquo Brett eventually found his way to Ex’pression College to pursue his passion for music and to follow his dream of running his own recording studio where he might help other musicians fully realize their musical talent. According to Brett’s family, he loved Ex’pression and felt it was where he belonged. He continues to be greatly missed.
A Facebook page was initiated in his memory.
Brett’s Family, together with Ex’pression College, established a not-for-profit Sound Arts scholarship fund in Brett’s name. “Through this scholarship Brett will continue to make a difference in the lives of other worthy sound arts students who might otherwise not be able to fully realize their dreams”, said his parents Linda and Doug Studebaker.
