Evan Johnson

Evan Johnson was searching on the internet for motion graphics education and found Expression; since then he has not looked back.

Growing up in rural Bennington, Vermont, Evan sought out artistic pursuits to fill the long summers. “We lived on six acres that bordered a State Park; you had to use your imagination to fill the time.” Imagination was not in short supply at home; his mother a music teacher, his sister a musician and his brother an audio engineer. Although Evan is also a musician, and considered following in the footsteps of his mother and siblings, a high school graphic design class changed his perspective on the world. The class exposed Evan to the suite of digital design tools for desktop publishing; it opened a door and served as a launch point. Evan was inspired to continue his education in graphics, becoming interested in motion design. This area is the prefect marriage between his musical and artistic visions. “Adding visuals to sound is really a passion; I happily worked sixteen hour days creating a recent music video.”

Recently Evan’s designs were chosen by SCION for a special series of art cars debuted at the summer music festival BFD held by local radio station LIVE 105. “I was really excited to see my design on the cars,” said Evan, “I look forward to adding then to my portfolio.” After graduation Evan plans to return back East to live in New York City. He is interested in perusing work in advertising.
