Robert MercurioBassist
Robert Mercurio is the Bass player and founding member of the New Orleans funk band Galactic. Mercurio has played an intricate role in Galactic’s current success and holds such accomplishments as co-producing all of Galactic’s eight albums including their highly acclaimed album Ya Ka May which collaborated with such industry icons as Allen Toussaint and Irma Thomas (view featurette). Mercurio has also co-produced the Greyhounds album Liberty as well.
Mercurio has had great success in establishing Galactic’s commercial success as well. These accomplishments include sound tracks to PS3 game InFamous 2, (which Mercurio co-produced). Galactic’s music has been placed in commercials for Verizon, ABC sports, Hawthorne, and the Golden Globes, as well as TV shows such as CSI, True Blood, and NBC sports. You can also find Galactic’s music placed in movies such as Rated X, The Mechanic, First Sunday, It’s the Rage, amongst others. Galactic has been seen on the Jimmy Kimmel Show as well as Conan O’Brien on a number of occasions and has had cameo appearances on the HBO hit series Treme.
Mercurio will be sharing his industry knowledge and giving tips on how to network, build your team for success, as well as many other bits of information in which every musician, technician, and industry person should know to help secure their success and make their mark in the entertainment industry.
