Congratulations to Common Core faculty member Agnes Szelag, who has received a Fulbright Scholarship to continue her research project in Poland next year. Agnes will will be stationed at The Academy of Music in Krakow, where she will be researching music composition and performance practice. “The Electro-acoustic Studio at the Academy and Krakow is at the heart of the Polish sound arts field. The Academy has also played a significant role in academic and artistic activity surrounding video, experimental, and audiovisual work. While there, I plan to immerse myself in diverse techniques and views used by the faculty, resident artists, local composers, and performers. I will gain a deeper understanding of Krakow’s role in the electro-acoustic and multimedia fields and become involved with the future development of emerging art forms.” Many thanks to Agnes for her hard work, dedication, and the many contributions she has made to Ex’pression College.
