Local Band Workshop - 11.14.07

Expression College, LIVE 105, and Imeem.com invite you to our Local Band Workshop on Wednesday, November 14th from 6:30-9:30pm.  Meet and hear from music industry pros about how to take your band to the next level.  Plus, it’s the only way for your band to score the opening slot on LIVE 105’s Not So Silent Night show.  For details, including panelist bios, demo submission info, and more, visit Live105.com.

Rob Stevenson, A&R director, Island/Def Jam Records, Los Angeles Rob sang in a little band called The Killers a few years ago, as well as bands like The Bravery, Sum 41 and started a very successful ‘indie’ label imprint called Stolen Transmission Records.

Jordan Kurland, Zeitgeist Management/Noise Pop SF’s own Jordan Kurland manages such notable acts as Death Cab For Cutie, Feist, Rogue Wave and Street to Nowhere, as well as organizing one of SF’s most vaunted music festivals Noise Pop.

Rick Mueller, Live Nation, SF One of the Bay Area’s most important architects of live music and concerts, Rick helps orchestrate pretty much every big concert you’ve ever attended, including booking and overseeing legendary local venues like The Shoreline, Oakland Coliseum, Bill Graham Civic, Warfield, etc.

Adam Carson, AFI Drummer of the platinum selling punk rock outfit and Northern California native, Adam will most definitely have some great early AFI tales to tell as well as providing an interesting road map of how AFI went from playing the Gillman to headlining BFD.

Haley Jones, Red Distribution/Sony Music Haley Jones, former Music Director of KFOG, SF, now works in artist development and promotion for a major record label/distribution company that has the mentality, business model and grass roots sensibility of an indie label! She personally works with several exciting emerging artists and projects, including Pucifer (Maynard of Tool’s latest project), Peter Bjorn and John, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Chiodos, etc.

Dana Kamian, Slim’s/Great American Music Hall Booking agent for not only two of the most reputable music venues in San Francisco, but recognized as two of the best live music clubs in the country! She’ll be answering one of the most asked questions from the music scene “How the hell do I get booked at Slim’s or GAMH” and disclosing what important attributes Dana looks for in local bands.

Shane Tobin, Imeem In this important new DIY world of digital media and social networking services, Shane will discuss how Imeem plays a pivotal role in helping take your band to the next level and will provide some advance on how to successfully navigate through an on-line sea of options.
