Alison MannHead Recruiter and Internship Coordinator, NICKELODEON Animation Studios

Alison Mann currently serves as the Head Recruiter and Internship Coordinator for Nickelodeon Animation Studios/MTV Networks. Currently the Recruiter and Internship Coordinator at Nickelodeon Studios, Mann first made contact with Nickelodeon through an internship she had in their finance department while still a media management student at Columbia College Student. Now coordinating Nickelodeon’s internships to help educate future leaders in animation and media management.

Reel Review
11am - 12pm
South Wing, Room #510 - Oval Room

All are encouraged to come to the reel review even if you don’t have a reel prepared. Deadline for reel submission is Monday, Feb. 25. Please bring your reel on a DVD to Millie Li’s office. Please check your DVD to make sure it plays properly.

Motion Graphic Design Guest Speaker
Jim TierneyChief Anarchist, Digital Anarchy

Jim Tierney has been involved with the development of visual tools for motion design and compositing for over 14 years. He started off in print design but got a job with MetaTools in the early 90s working on animation software. He got introduced to animation and film visual effects by working on Bryce and Final Effects for After Effects. This led to jobs with various other After Effects plugin developers and in 2000 he decided to start his own company. That company, Digital Anarchy, is one of the leading After Effects plugin developers and also has a respected line of Photoshop plugins. In addition to running the company, Jim shoots a lot of photos and paints.

Joe ShoopackDirector of Artistic Development, Sony Online Entertainment

Joe Shoopack, Director of Artistic Development works with all Sony Online Entertainment development teams. He facilitates shared development solutions as well as defining career growth plans for artists, and working with outside development partners. Joe holds a BFA degree in Illustration from Brigham Young University. He and his wife have level 75 EverQuest II characters and a large family of MMO players.

Tim GormanLegendary Session Keyboardist

Tim Gorman, the legendary session keyboardist, whose credits range from The Rolling Stones to the Who and from Rancid to latter-day versions of those Jefferson bands, the Airplane and the Starship. Tim is a San Francisco Bay area native along with the members of Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Journey, and many other well known rock bands. Mr. Gorman has recorded in many studios including Skywalker Sound, Fantasy Studios, Different Fur Studios, The Plant, The Factory in London and plenty more. Tim also composed the score for Electronic Art’s “The Sim’s” and “The Sim’s 2 as well as contributed to the music of ”titanic” and Disney’s “Country Bears.”

Jean Marie HorvatMixer, Engineer, Remixer

Jean-Marie Horvat got his start in the early 90’s as a mixer/engineer/remixer for Teddy Riley. During his 5 year stint, he engineered and mixed a long list of stellar projects which included songs for Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous,” Wreckx-N-Effect’s “Hard or Smooth” and the hit debut Bobby Brown and Blackstreet records. Jean-Marie’s ability to work in such diverse styles as Hip Hop, R&B, Rock and Gospel has led him to be one of the pre-emenient mixers in the business. He has worked with a host of top producers including Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Stargate, Polow Da Don, The Neptunes,. R. Kelly, Scott Storch, Just Blaze, Bryan-Michael Cox, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins and will.i.am and has been honored with two Grammy Award nominations for his work on Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” and Kirk Franklin’s “Revolution,” and a Latin Grammy Award nomination for the smash Beyonce f/Shakira “Beautiful Liar.”
