Ten bands competed in Ex’pression College’s first Battle of the Bands. The first round featured an exciting mix of rock, metal, screamo, and a 14 piece percussion troupe. After the scores were tallied up, four bands competed for the top prize of a music video made by Motion Graphic Design students.
First place winner was Zxaxzior, an all-Ex’pression student band. Runners up included The Loyd Family Players, Bullets Can’t Kill Danny, and Robusto. Judges included noted musician Ray Cepeda, Ex’pression President Spencer Nilsen, Sound Arts Program Director John Scanlon, and Sound Faculty Scott Miller and Dennis Killagas.
All the bands had amazing energy as the night rocked on. MCs Santige 88 and Jessica McCarthy rallied up the crowed and kept things moving.
Battle of the Bands was organized by the Ex’pression Student Body Government.
