, Director for Sony’s Post Production Facility and , and Sound Recordist at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, have both jump started their successful careers in audio post production, and are coming to Ex’pression to share their stories and best practices for success.
Mike Rizzuto recently celebrated 13 years at Sony Pictures Studios. In October of 2007, he became Director of Sony’s Post Production facility, one of the largest full-service post production facilities in Hollywood. He oversees the day-to-day operations of 17 different stages, which encompass mixing, editing, scoring, Foley, and ADR. In what could be scripted as a Hollywood film itself, Rizzuto’s inspirational climb to Director started in Sony’s shipping and receiving department. Since then, , working with many of the industry’s top directors, producers, and talent that come to Sony to complete their films.
Less than one year ago, Nick graduated from Ex’pression College and moved to Los Angeles in hopes to work in audio post production. As so many do, Nick started as a mail clerk, but through hard work and diligence, he quickly moved through the ranks with exceptional skill, and is now working as a Sound Recordist at Sony. Nick’s sound career began by assisting with the animation pre-records of the upcoming animated features, and . He has also had worked with , , , and . Nick’s current projects include preparing for the upcoming season of and mixing two projects for directors and .
