Ex’pression Grad Wins Emmy!

Class 48 graduate, Eric Ramin, took home a 2008 Emmy Award for Best Newscast- Evening- Larger Markets. Eric worked as a graphic and broadcast designer on the Christmas CBS 5 Eyewitness News at 11 pm newscast covering the tiger attack at the San Francisco zoo. Eric provided banners, maps, and preproduction graphics as part of the pared down holiday staff at CBS.

The position at CBS was Eric’s first job after graduating from Ex’pression College when he was hired immediately after completing an internship there. He found the position as graphic designer challenging given the fast paced nature of television news, but feels his education at Ex’pression College prepared him well. “We heavily use Photoshop, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro, the very same programs the school teaches. I have to say the school taught me the skills necessary to perform my job everyday and the job helped me to become faster and better in what I do.”

Eric is still working at CBS, although this year he began alternating months with another designer at the CW 44Cable12. The change allows him to stay fresh and balance the fast- paced television news schedule with the opportunity to work with a creative team on other motion graphics projects such as IDs and end tags for shows.

Ex’pression congratulates Eric!
