Ex’pression College students recently completed visual effects work for a NOVA series titled, “Becoming Human,” scheduled to air on PBS stations November 3-17. The project was managed by visual effects luminary Ease Owyeung, whose credits include Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones to name a few.

Ease brought the project to Ex’pression College and managed the production with the all-volunteer student crew.  The students created motion capture, character modeling, character setup, texturing, lighting, hair and particle effects, as well as compositing over the eight month project. The real world project will result in the first professional credits for the budding visual effects stars.
