Ex’pression College instructors, program directors, and even our president continue to work on projects for in the industry. Spencer Nilsen, the President and Creative Director of Ex’pression College, composed the score for the feature film “Moonlight Sonata”. Assisting with the film’s sound, Steve Orlando, a Sound Arts instructor, mixed and created additional sound design elements for the movie.

Moonlight Sonata has garnered some rave reviews as made evident by the 8.7 rating by IMDB users. The film, which screened at several film festivals this year, will play at the Love is Folly International Film Festival in Varna, Bulgaria this September.

• In March 2009, "Moonlight Sonata" played at the 2009 Honolulu International Film Festival in Hawaii. The film won the Gold Kahuna Award for Excellence in Filmmaking
• Screened as part of 11th California Independent Film Festival, April 2009.
• In May 2009, "Moonlight Sonata" played at the 2009 Big Island Film Festival in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
• In June 2009, "Moonlight Sonata" played at the 2009 Staten Island Film Festival in Staten Island, New York.

About the film

Moonlight Sonata is the story of a privileged San Francisco family, the difficult moral choices its members make and the consequences they have to face, told in the genre of a modern psychological thriller with surprising twists and turns along the way, all culminating in a cliff-hanger climax.
