Ex’pression College for Digital Arts
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(EMEYRVILLE, CA – January 25, 2011) – Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, one of the premier schools of its kind in the United States, is proud to announce that Philadelphia blues-rock troubadour G. Love will be performing at the next Ex’pression Session on February 2, 2011, at 5 PM PST. In partnership with Creative Allies, an online design community that lets anyone submit art in official contests like OK Go, Amanda Palmer, Jack Johnson, and Thievery Corporation, G. Love will perform a private acoustic set promoting his new album “Fixin’ To Die” in Meyer Hall on the Ex’pression College campus. Creative Allies is also currently running a poster design contest with G. Love, with entries due February 15, 2011. This private concert will be broadcast live via webcast through Ustream.
“Fixin’ To Die” will be released on February 22nd on Brushfire Records. The album, produced by Seth and Scott Avett, is a true divergence from G. Love’s previous records and reflects the dogged work ethic of some of music’s hardest working artists who earned their stripes the old-fashion way with veracious songs, road weary odometers, and sweat stained live shows.
“It’s an honor to have talented artists like G. Love perform at our campus. We are fortunate to be able to offer our students this hands-on experience to film and record professional musicians in a live sound multi-media production setting to enhance the curriculum we offer. We are grateful to the artists that have participated in our Ex’pression Sessions, and look forward to welcoming G. Love to our school,” commented John Scanlon, Director of the Sound Arts programs at Ex’pression College.
Ex’pression Sessions are concerts produced, recorded, and filmed by current students and supervised by faculty.
