Ex’pression College for Digital Arts Adds Additional Workshop to Summer Camp

Eight Summer Workshops To Be Offered This Summer For High School Students

(EMERYVILLE, CA – May 6, 2011) –Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, one of the premier schools of its kind in the United States, is pleased to announce that an eighth workshop in Digital Filmmaking has been added to their Summer Camp program. Summer Camp takes place August 1-5, 2011, and is open to high school juniors, seniors and recent grads, affording them the opportunity to participate in weeklong workshops in a variety of digital arts courses. Taking place during the college’s summer break, Summer Camp workshops are led by Ex’pression College faculty members.

The following camps will be offered during the 2011 Summer Camp: Animation, Beginning Studio Recording, Design for Print and Web, Digital Filmmaking, Drawing, Electronic Music Production, Game Art and Stop Motion Animation.

“Summer Camp is a unique opportunity that we are fortunate to be able to provide to high school students interested in the digital arts. During these five days, Summer Camp participants will be treated as if they were Ex’pression College students – they will receive intensive instruction from some of our finest teachers, learn software skills and techniques that we teach in our classes, have access to our gear and studios – just as our students would,” commented President Spencer Nilsen.

“We take our animation curriculum and distill it down to a one week experience for those who attend the Animation Summer Camp.  Our teachers are regularly amazed at what high school students can produce in one week. Students produce an animation to take home, but more than that, they are inspired to follow a path of study into a career that can take them to great heights,” said Andrew Schlussel, program director, Animation & Visual Effects.

Summer Camp runs from 9 AM to 4PM on August 1-5, 2011. Summer Camp is $250 per student and this fee includes all instruction and materials for the 5-day workshops. Summer Camp is open to high school juniors, seniors and recent high school graduates. To register for a workshop, visit www.expression.edu/camps or contact our Summer Camp Coordinator Tess Sale at or 510.594.6990.
