Expression College Sound Arts Student Wins TEC Awards Scholarship

Expression College for Digital Arts, the premier school of its kind in the United States, today announced that Sound Arts student Kayla Knoll was awarded The Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio’s 2004 TEC Awards Scholarship Grant for $1,000.00. Kayla is one of three students who won the Mix Foundation scholarship and the first from Expression College to have that honor.

Kayla Knoll would one day like to compose music for a film score and develop her own production company. “It feels great to be the first Expression student to be awarded the TEC scholarship. The grant puts me several steps closer to realizing my dream of working in the digital arts field and taking what Expression has taught me to become an audio engineer working in all aspects of the field, from recording to live sound and even post production. I’m ready!”

The TEC Awards Scholarship was established in 1995 to advance the education of qualified students in audio and other media communications arts in need of financial assistance. The Mix Foundation gives two or three a year. For more information on 2005 requirements and applications process are at www.mixfoundation.org/hearing.html. Scroll down to “TEC Awards Scholarship.”
